How to
use the Rainbow Food workbook
To begin, make sure you have some fruit of every colour
so you
can either do the taste test game on p16 or experience a Rainbow
fruit Platter. Then read the first part of the legend in the first
session (up to page 16) and assist the child in preparing a
Rainbow
Fruit Feast, sampling a fruit from every colour
(green apples, bananas,
strawberries, blueberries, passionfruit etc).
To play the taste test game, hide some fruit pieces blindfold the player and ask him/her to name the fruit, describe its taste, smell etc.
In School
or in Groups
Similar to individual but suitable for a group situation.
Excerpt: "Before reading the story, divide the children into colour
groups. After reading to pl6 Invite the groups in their colours to
come to the prepared Rainbow Fruit Feast and find a fruit that matches.
Teachers notes are available
by email on request. Also see Rainbow Food in schools and
